PAVSA KHEL 2024-25
The ICYM unit of St. Francis Assisi Church, Nainad, organized a thrilling inter-ward water games competition, "Pavsa Khel," on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the church hall ground. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo, Parish Priest and Director of ICYM unit, who dropped water balloons along with other dignitaries, setting the tone for a fun-filled day.
The inter-ward competition saw enthusiastic participation from parishioners of all ages, representing their respective wards, who engaged in exciting games like sponge race, water balloon balance, special water relay, tire passing between bottles, passing the round rope, filling bucket through cotton rope bag etc.
The ICYM past animator, Mr. Avil Moras, and team members expertly conducted the games, ensuring everyone had a splashing good time!
Dignitaries present included Mr. Lany William Dsouza, Vice President; Mr. Enas Rodrigues, Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Sr. Monthi Dsouza, Superior of St. Joseph School Nainad; ICYM animator Mrs. Molly Dsouza, President Mr. Wilson Rodrigues, and Secretary Mr. Alen Dsouza.
The event was marked by energetic participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Prizes and trophies were awarded to the winners and runners-up, and a delicious lunch was arranged for all participants by the ICYM team.
After the mass, a special ceremony was held to launch the "Unity Cup" trophy, symbolizing the unity and spirit of the parishioners. This prestigious trophy will be awarded to the winning ward that accumulates the most points , by participating and winning in various programs and events conducted by ICYM, including the Pavsa Khel water games competition.
Ms. Monal Jiya Rasquinha, ICYM Belthangady Deanery Secretary, visited and encouraged the players, adding to the excitement. The day ended with memories to cherish and a renewed sense of community spirit.
A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Alen Dsouza, expressing gratitude to all participants, organizers, and dignitaries for making the event a resounding success."
